The tee shot is crucial on this opening hole of the back nine. Anything to the right is jail and penalty strokes. You should be able to carry the first fairway bunker on the left, but beware of the second one. The uphill approach leads to a green that slopes from left to right pretty hard, and is guarded by a bunker on the right side of the green. Do not go long on your approach.
Hole #11
Club selection will go a long way in determining your success on this hole. There is trouble to the immediate left as well as behind the green. The safe play is to the right of the pin where the ball often will kick down to the green off the slopes surrounding the green.
Hole #12
The average player should not have trouble off the tee here as a slight fade off the left edge of the fairway will leave you a manageable second shot. There is water that crosses the fairway about 300 yards out so big hitters beware. The second shot will have to be accurate as bunkers are present on the left and right sides.
Hole #13
Depending on the wind during the day this can be a reachable par 5. A solid drive to the right side of the fairway will remove any trees in your way. Any drives to the left are dead with a pitch out coming on your second shot. There are bunkers guarding the right side of the green, so stay a little left as there is some room there.
Hole #14
This is the hardest hole on the golf course and easily one of the hardest holes in the area. There is plenty of room short to bail out, but anything real short or wide in either direction will mean water or sand. The raw length of this par 3 makes it a hole that demands accuracy and length on the tee shot.
Hole #15
A sneaky long and uphill par 4 requires a delicate second shot. The landing area is wide and the right fairway bunker is basically unreachable off the tee. The uphill second shot features bunkers to the right of the green and out of bounds to the left and behind the green. Pay attention to your club selection as you may need one more if the wind is in your face.
Hole #16
Another risk/reward par 5. Only the biggest hitters will be able to reach the green in 2, but if you do a makeable eagle putt is not out of the question. The reachable fairway bunker on the left forces a tee ball to the right side of the fairway. The second shot is fairly straight forward with long grass lurking to the right. Bunkers are in play on the left and right sides of this green and get frequent visitors. Do not go long on your approach.
Hole #17
This par 3 offers a great view as well as two sets of tee boxes to give the hole two different looks. The left set of boxes make the hole longer and more downhill. With swirling winds present almost daily, club selection is very important. A short shot will find a splash and anything to the left of the green will have the same result.
Hole #18
The tee ball will determine your success here. A big slice will produce a penalty stroke and another tee shot as out of bounds is present. There is some room to the left off the tee. Bigger hitters should pay attention to the hidden fairway bunker on the right side and water way down the left side. The approach requires accuracy as long means splash and short means sand. Keep the ball below the hole on this approach.
